Repair
or Replace?
This is a decision
that many homeowners face.
A part of the home
is getting older, the warranty has long expired, and the breakdown has
finally occurred. Do you repair it and wait it out, or do you decide to
replace it now?
In the home comfort
business, we are asked this question many times. Below are some thoughts
to consider before you make a decision. As is the case with almost anything,
there are a number of points on both sides, which make sense. The important
thing to remember is to always do what is right for your individual needs.
New Technology
The changes in Home Comfort technology are occurring very rapidly. New,
smart sensors and controls, hot surface ignition systems, and product
designs, which increase efficiency and energy savings are all improving
year after year. In many cases the repair option may seem like the least
expensive way to go. A careful comparison should be made. A new, high
efficiency system may save you energy costs and improve reliability. Many
of these new products are quiet and more environmentally friendly.
Improved Warranties
In virtually every case, the warranties on the new equipment will far
exceed any warranty you would have either on your old system, or on the
service of the existing equipment. Most major manufacturers today have
improved the quality of their manufacturing, and their components, which
go into the products. This has allowed the manufacturers to extend their
warranties far beyond what most thought possible a few years ago. Couple
this with our 100% satisfaction guarantee, and our own exclusive "No Lemons"
guarantee, and you have a significantly improved warranty to give you
peace of mind.
Budget
Sometimes it is just plain less expensive to have it fixed, and get it
over and done with. Sometimes the budget forces the repair instead of
replacement of older equipment. Be sure to fully evaluate the options.
We offer a wide variety of financing plans, so when budget is a concern,
most often, we can find a way to help you.
Regular Maintenance
If you do elect to repair the existing system, you should consider a regular
maintenance program for the equipment. Like automobiles, which need regular
oil changes to keep them running smoothly, your home comfort equipment
needs to be cleaned, and fine-tuned to keep premium efficiency. Regular
maintenance can also save you money by preventing future breakdowns, and
making you eligible for special, preferred customer benefits.
